About Sri Lakshmipati Tirtha
Sri Lakshmipati Tirtha was ordained the 20th Pithadhipati by Sri Lakshminatha Tirtha. The saint closely followed the footsteps of his Guru Sri Lakshminatha Tirtha and seemed to have been equally well respected by the rulers of his time. His Holiness was as much endearing to the common ones as is noticeable from his charama shloka. The saint is compared to the moon that rose from the ocean by name Lakshminatha and always was a source of happiness to groups of sajjanas, compared to lotuses here.
His Holiness seems to have undertaken tours in the southern parts of Tamilnadu such as Trichy, Madurai and others. We understand from tradition that the saint brought riches to the Srimatha as perhaps indicative of his Ashrama Nama. Available epigraphical evidence of his time indicates the saint being a recipient of a land grant from Rangakrishna Muthu Virappa Nayak, a ruler of the Madurai Nayak dynasty.
The saint ordained Sri Lakshminarayana Tirtha as his successor to the Pitha and attained Haripada. His Vrindavana is alongside his Guru in Sriranga Kshetra.
